As a single small business owner who works from home I don’t get out much. Everything has become about the business. If there was an endless flow of cash, I’d be less inclined to work 15 hour days, but if I don’t work, the business doesn’t build and the money doesn’t flow. The buck stops with me.
So why am I sharing too much of my personal information with you? Because I think that many of us, myself included, don’t spend enough time playing. We forget the joy. We forget the unbridled laughter we used to share with our friends, regardless of our age. We forget that part of living is L-I-V-I-N-G!
It’s Mardi Gras here in New Orleans and it’s time for all of us to dress up like 5 year olds and “pass a good time.” Mardi Gras isn’t about 20 year old frat boys from the midwest (no offense intended) puking on Bourbon Street. Well it can be, but for us locals it’s not. It’s a time for family and friends, period. If you get Uptown and walk the parade route you see that it is a vastly different world among the local than it is with the heavy tourist scene downtown. We have dragged our living room furniture (literally) out of the house and it now sits ON the parade route right next to 3 gas grills full of food. We are costumed, laughing and LIGHT. We wave at friends walking by with their “people” and hug those we haven’t seen in a while.
My point?
Wellness, health and feeling good aren’t just about what you feed your body, but what you feed your soul as well. Get out and get yourself some joy. Don’t wait. Tomorrow might be too late.
Laissez les bon temp roule!

Great blog today. Gonna go out with some friends and catch some beads.
En-JOY!!
